Kyle Brandt’s Sopranos Jets appearance on NFL Network

1. Full disclosure. Yesterday I wrote a full lead article on Jayden Daniels’ Hail Mary against the Bears and what a great job Tony Romo and Jim Nantz did in those final seconds on CBS.

You can still read everything I wrote in point #2. Everything is there, completely intact. But I had to move the Commanders/CBS stuff out of the top spot once I saw Hello Football Kyle Brandt gives us one of the best sports TV shows of all time.

I don’t want to give you too many spoilers, but if you like The Sopranosand you specifically have a special place in your heart for the episode that featured Christopher’s intervention, then sit back, relax and watch Brandt brilliantly play what a Sopranos what an intervention would look like for the pathetic New York Jets.

2. The Bears-Commanders game was supposed to be at 1 p.m. ET, but the NFL and CBS moved it to a 4:25 p.m. slot, giving most of the country a chance to watch Daniels’ 52-yard Hail Mary to give Washington an 18.–15 victory.

After the Bears scored a touchdown to take a 15–12 lead, Washington recovered the ball at the Chicago 24-yard line with 19 seconds left and no timeouts.

Romo was all over Washington’s strategy completing a few quick passes to put himself within Hail Mary range. Even with just six seconds remaining, Romo made it perfectly clear that it wasn’t Hail Mary time yet and suggested that Washington should play.

What happened? The commanders executed the play exactly as Romo said and it worked to perfection.

That sparked the Hail Mary attempt and gave Nantz his time to shine.

CBS’ NFL lead voice call was perfect. He mentioned how Daniels gave himself time to get into the throw, he shouted the Hail Mary while the ball was in the air, and then summed up the emotion and shock by shouting, “ AND THE BALL IS ATTACKED! CAUGHTTTTT” when Noah Brown caught the tipped pass that fell straight into his arms as he stood alone in the end zone.

Perfect call.

Here’s how this moment was broadcast on local Washington radio.

And local Chicago radio.

This superb victory gave rise to a wild celebration on the field highlighted by this moment.

Meanwhile, the craziest part of the Hail Mary didn’t come to light until after the game, when Twitter exploded with an in-stadium video of the Bears’ Tyrique Stevenson taunting the Commanders, far from where he would have had to be on defense during the Hail Mary. was happening. Then Stevenson ran to join the scrum and ended up being the one to tip the ball to the maroon!!!!!

3. Cosmo Kramer is far from being the only Assman.

Tom Brady called out the Bills’ blowout win over the Seahawks on Sunday and, at one point, shared his admiration for Josh Allen’s butt.

“He’s a big kid with big, powerful legs and a big, powerful van,” Brady said.

When Brady’s partner, Kevin Burkhardt, pointed out that Allen would take that as a compliment, Brady doubled down on his respect for his rear end.

“I wish I had one (like Allen),” Brady added. “I didn’t have many. I tried to run that thing over there (on the quarterback sneaks), but Josh has all the power.

The Brady-Allen mutual admiration continued after the game when Allen told Brady he looked good.

4. One of the reasons I’m very grateful to have this column is because I can share some thoughts here that I can’t share on Twitter because people would destroy me.

For example, following the Browns’ shocking upset of the Ravens yesterday, Twitter was one big Jameis Winston celebration. Praises have been received from all corners of the world. If someone came forward and said something negative, they would basically be banned from society.

Yet my only thought was, “How can everyone give Winston all this credit when the game really should have ended in a Winston interception?”

5. If you can, keep Dwyane Wade in your thoughts today. The Heat just unveiled a statue for the poor guy, and it’s a complete disaster.

6. The last episode of SI Media With Jimmy Traina features a conversation with CBS’ James Brown.

Time The NFL today The host talks about his life before broadcasting, attending Harvard University and trying out for the Atlanta Hawks, and what happened when he didn’t make the team.

Brown then touches on his career in broadcasting and discusses his decision to leave Fox’s pregame show to join CBS, what he hopes to get out of The NFL today every week, changes to The NFL today this season with Phil Simms and Boomer Esiason out and Matt Ryan in, what his typical Sunday looks like each week and his biggest broadcast problem, which was an epic 1-2 punch when he did play-by-play.

After Brown, Sal Licata from WFAN radio and SNY TV in New York joins me for our weekly “Traina Thoughts” segment. This week’s topics include the Dodgers-Yankees World Series, terrible pace of play, the NFL trade deadline falling on Election Day, and a film review. Saturday evening.
