The governor, who expressed gratitude to church leaders for the interactive session, said: “I am one of you, a born-again Christian, and I understand the spiritual responsibilities that come with leadership.

“Ondo State government is rooted in the body of Christ and as such, we cannot afford to fail. I sincerely ask you to continue to pray for us, for wisdom in governance and for the upcoming elections to be peaceful and fair.

Aiyedatiwa called on the Christian community to pray fervently for the state, stressing: “As we approach the crucial election period, I implore you to intercede for our state, for harmony and for a harmonious process that reflects the will of the people. We cannot underestimate the power of prayers.

On his part, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Anselm Ologunwa, commended the governor’s prompt attention to matters concerning the Christian community.
