Receiver Cody White makes memorable Seahawks debut

With DK Metcalf out for the second straight week, the Seahawks elevated practice squad wide receiver Cody White for Sunday’s game against the Rams. White spent most of last season on the Seahawks’ practice squad, finally making his debut for Seattle on Sunday, and made sure it was a memorable one.

“When they told me I was up, I just hoped I did enough to set myself up for an opportunity, and I feel like I did a good job,” White said after the game .

Although he only had two catches on the day, a few plays made the difference in the momentum of the game. White was able to get his hands on a punt in the fourth quarter, although the Seahawks failed to score on the drive that ended with an interception.

“Well, that was actually the first time I said it,” White said on the blocked punt. “I hadn’t rehearsed it at all in practice. They just told me what to do on the sidelines, and I went and figured it out and was able to block. I practiced that every day in practice, so I felt like I was pretty prepared for the moment.”
