Protecting the Constitution is India’s main battle, says Congress leader Rahul Gandhi

Wayanad (Kerala): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday stressed that the country’s main struggle today is to protect and preserve the Constitution.

He said the country’s Constitution was not written with hatred, but with humility and love.

“The main fight going on in the country today is the fight for the Constitution of our country. The protection we enjoy, the greatness of our country, all this has emerged from the Constitution,” the Lok MP said Sabha while addressing a meeting corner at Mananthavady here as part of the campaign for his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Priyanka is the Congress candidate for Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll.

“The Constitution was not written with anger or with hatred. It was written by the people who fought the British, the people who suffered, who spent years and years in prison. And they wrote the Constitution with humility, with love and with affection,” he said.

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha stressed that it is a fight between love and hate.

“A fight between confidence and insecurity. And if you really want to win this fight, then you must help by removing anger from your heart, removing hatred from your heart and replacing them with love, humility and compassion,” he added.

Rahul Gandhi highlighted his sister’s good qualities and shared nostalgic memories of their childhood.

“She was the one who went to hug the girl involved in my father’s assassination (Rajiv Gandhi). She told me that after she returned after meeting Nalini, she got emotional and then she m ‘said I felt bad for her,’ recalls Rahul Gandhi.

“That’s the training she received. And for me, that’s the type of politics that needs to be pursued in India. Not a politics of hatred, but a politics of love and affection,” a- he added.

During her campaign, Priyanka continued her attacks on the Union government, saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi had done everything for his business friends.

“The government of Modi ji only works for its big businessman friends. Its aim is not to give you a better life. It is not to find new jobs for your young people who are educated. It does not “It’s not about providing better health or better education,” she said.

Priyanka Gandhi resumed her campaign on Sunday by holding public meetings and corner meetings in Hill constituency along with her brother Rahul Gandhi.
