Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor And Joe Duttine) receive a nasty shock in next week’s Coronation Street when they realize someone is living in their garden shed.

At first, Sally and Tim come to the conclusion that a few mice have taken up residence in their house when they find food spilled all over the kitchen.

While Sally is cleaning the cupboards, Tim bursts in from the garden and reckons that the mice were also hanging out in the shed.

When Sally takes a look, she spots a bag inside and realizes that it’s not mice that are causing the problem, but a human.

Later, just as Tim crosses the road to Street Cars with the bag, Mason (Luca Toolan) checks on him and later confirms that this bag is his and that he is now homeless.

Mason’s life since his release from prison was difficult. He was initially helped by Yasmeen (Shelley King) and Stu (Bill Fellows), but when Mason brought trouble to Yasmeen’s doorstep in the form of his criminal and violent brother, she didn’t want him around anymore.

Fortunately, he was helped by a social worker, who found Mason accommodation – but this was clearly unsuccessful.

With Stu now living in Germany With his granddaughter Eliza and his father Dom, Mason really doesn’t have anyone at the moment.

Towards the end of the week, Tim is unable to find Mason a bed for the night and tells him he can sleep on the couch at his house.

In a new video, Tim is clearly nervous as he promises to find somewhere for Mason to stay – and hopes Sally never finds out.
