Timmins News: Federal offender captured in Chapleau

Accused of violating the conditions of his parole, a wanted federal offender was apprehended in Chapleau earlier this week.

Matthew Sinobert, 42, was on parole after being convicted of a February 2020 carjacking east of Mattawa.

“An investigation involving the Upper East OPP, Sudbury Parole Services and the OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Unit determined that the parolee had violated his parole conditions in Chapleau, Ontario,” said Const. Rob Sanchioni told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.

The Sudbury Parole Office requested a Canada-wide arrest warrant on October 21 and he was arrested a week later, around 11 a.m. on October 28.
