(Istanbul, Turkey, November 1, 2024) At the 10th Ultra-Broadband Forum (UBBF 2024), James Chen, President of Huawei’s Carrier Business Division, delivered a speech titled “Network + AI, Unleash More commercial value”. Chen said: “To explore the potential of AI, the “FOUR NEWS” strategy – new hub, new services, new experience and new operation is crucial. It helps operators expand market boundaries, foster innovative services and improve market competitiveness. while optimizing network operation and maintenance and achieving business success. As the Ultra Broadband (UBB) and AI industries strengthen, the number of global Gigabit fiber broadband users has surpassed 300 million and the average speed of home broadband plans reached 570 Mbit/s. There are more than 1,300 basic models of AI and more than 30,000 AI-related companies worldwide. The UBB industry and the AI industry are mutually reinforcing, driving widespread adoption of gigabit broadband.

Huawei believes the “FOUR NEWS” strategy is key to unlocking more business value through networking and AI.

  1. New pole: The new Hub is the AI Hub for home services. The core of AI Hub is the development of AI agents. AI agents must connect people, things and applications, understand and respond to family members’ requirements, control smart devices to meet family requirements, and connect AI applications to push the boundaries of home services. The new hub helps carriers achieve commercial inroads in the domestic market.
  2. New services: Operators enable new services and bundle high-quality content with AI to gradually build a domestic AI application ecosystem. AI can not only improve traditional services, such as interactive fitness and motion-sensing games, but also innovate home services, such as home service robots, healthcare and education , etc. It improves the quality of life and gradually builds a domestic AI ecosystem. .
  3. New experience: New services such as cloud gaming, live trading, AI photo and video search, are emerging one after another. These services have high requirements for network quality, including latency, uplink and downlink bandwidth, and jitter. This provides new network monetization opportunities for operators. Operators can seize monetization opportunities through new business models, such as latency-based billing, upstream bandwidth-based billing, and AI feature-based billing. A high-quality service experience requires high-quality networks. Operators are building high-quality “Premium Vertical and Premium Horizontal” networks to support high-quality service experience and commercial monetization. The key to building a “Premium Vertical and Premium Horizontal” network is to create 1ms connections between data centers and 1ms access to a data center.
  4. New operation: As the scale of the carrier network grows, the autonomous driving network becomes more important. AI supports high-level networked autonomous driving and improves network operation efficiency. Huawei’s L4 autonomous driving network, based on the Telecom Foundation model, helps operators reduce customer complaints, shorten the time for closing complaints, improve the efficiency of service provision, reduce the number of site visits and to accelerate the correction of breakdowns.

In the wave of digital intelligence transformation, the “FOUR NEW” strategy is not only the embodiment of network technology innovation, but also the important driving force to continuously release network business value. New hub, new services, new experience and new operation support each other and together form a complete path to business success in digital intelligence.

In the future, Huawei will continue to remain customer-centric, work with global operators and partners to explore the era of digital intelligence, accelerate the release of network + AI business value, and embrace an intelligent world prosperous.
