Who did Burnaby students vote to represent them in the legislature?

Young people from 54 schools across the city participated in the 2024 Student Vote mock election.

Burnaby students had the opportunity to vote before the provincial election in British Columbia, and the results came close to the actual final count.

October 19 Elections BC results showed the BC NDP swept all five Burnaby ridings with Anne Kang elected in Burnaby Centre, Reah Arora in Burnaby East, Raj Chouhan in Burnaby-New Westminster, Janet Routledge in Burnaby North and Paul Choi in Burnaby South-Metrotown.

Student Vote results showed that students sent Kang, Arora, Chouhan and Choi to the Victorian Legislative Assembly to represent their respective constituencies.

The only surprise came in Burnaby North, when BC Conservative Party candidate Michael Wu upset Routledge.

Of the 1,034 participating schools, the BC NDP won 44 seats, giving Premier David Eby and his party a minority government.
