Police have released video they say shows a home invasion in Markham in which a Ferrari and a BMW were stolen.

York Regional Police said three suspects – all juveniles – have since been charged in connection with the incident, while two others remain pending.

Around 4 a.m. Monday, officers went to the area of Steeles Avenue East and Grandview Avenue for a home invasion.

Police said five suspects entered the home by smashing the back door. At least two of the suspects are believed to be armed with hammers.

“The suspects threatened the victim, demanded the keys to his Ferrari and a BMW sport utility vehicle and forced him to open his garage door,” police said.

The suspect vehicle, a stolen black Acura TLX, was located in the area of Martin Grove Road and Steeles Avenue in Toronto, police said.

“Members of the robbery unit confiscated the vehicle and two young people were arrested shortly after,” police said.

Officers believe the same vehicle was involved in a jewelry store robbery in Markham earlier this month on October 21.

Meanwhile, the Ferrari that was stolen during the home invasion was found in the area of Highway 50 and Fogal Road east of Brampton, while the stolen BMW was found in the area at Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue in Toronto, police said.

Officers executed a search warrant at a Vaughan residence Wednesday in relation to a third suspect, police said.

The suspect was not at the residence, but was later located and arrested in Pickering, police said.

A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Markham, and a 15-year-old boy from Vaughan, have been charged with armed robbery, possession of property obtained by crime worth more than $5,000 and disguise with intent.

“At the time of the incident, the 17-year-old was on probation and the 15-year-old was on a release order for unrelated offenses,” police said.

Two suspects are still being sought. They were men aged 16 to 20 who wore dark clothing.

Anyone with information has been asked to come forward.
