Dan Quinn was in the mood to celebrate Jayden Daniels’ Hail Mary TD

Much of Sunday’s Week 8 matchup between the Washington Commanders And Chicago Bear didn’t live up to the hype. Caleb Williams completed less than 50 percent of his shots and the Bears didn’t even score in the first half. The commanders’ offense seemed better, but not by much. It was supposed to be a high-powered offensive play featuring the top two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, but it turned out to be a matchup featuring defenses.

THE end of this game ensures that this once disappointing game will be remembered for a long time. With the Commanders trailing by three points and on their own territory with just a few seconds left on the clock, it would take a miracle for them to get through it. This miracle happened.

Jayden Daniels extended the play as long as he could before throwing the ball toward the end zone. Somehow he got beaten and into the hands of a wide open Noah Brown for one of the most improbable touchdowns in recent memory. The Commanders won the game, stealing it from Chicago.

Obviously everyone involved has gone crazy. The fans in the stands went crazy, the players had the time of their lives, but no one had a better moment of celebration than head coach Dan Quinn.

Quinn turned his head once Daniels released the ball and began to slowly walk away from the sideline as if he expected the Hail Mary attempt to fail. Once he realized he was caught, it was pure jubilation.

He hugged Frankie Luvu, threw his helmet, let out several loud screams, and gave a lot more hugs. No one seemed more over the moon than Quinn, and rightly so. His team has just removed that disabled.

This moment was just the latest magical event to unfold this season for Quinn’s commanders. With the win, Washington is now 6-2 on the season and will remain in first place in the NFC East. This Commanders team was considered by many to finish at or near the bottom of the NFC East, but it has looked as legitimate as any team in the NFC thus far.

That kind of finish is worth celebrating and Quinn did not disappoint. The Commanders will be hoping this kind of result can give them further momentum with a matchup against the New York Giants on deck.
