Saskatchewan Election: Turnout Nears 53 Percent

Elections Saskatchewan says just under 53 per cent of those eligible to vote in the 2024 provincial election did so, when it comes to early voting, election day, personal care facilities and home ballots.

Following the first preliminary count, 439,771 votes were collected, for a total of 810,816 registered voters.

In total, 829,884 people were eligible to vote, according to Elections Saskatchewan.

A second preliminary count will be conducted Wednesday and will include mail-in voting.

According to Elections Saskatchewan, 32,476 mail-in ballots have been issued, with a tally of 20,417 pending.

A final count will be completed on November 9.

As of Tuesday morning, Sask. The party received a total of 232,760 votes and the NDP 173,285, according to Elections Saskatchewan.

The Saskatchewan United Party came in a distant third with 17,658 total votes.

In 2020, turnout was 52.86 percent, with 444,997 ballots counted.

Four years ago, there were 841,807 eligible voters, including 827,366 registered voters.
