RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) — Broughton High School is on Code Red lockdown while law enforcement responds to a potential threat at the school.

All students at the school are safe, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

During a Code Red lockdown, no one is allowed to enter or leave campus. The entire building is locked down and no one is allowed to enter or exit the building until a green light is issued.

The Raleigh Police Department said they received a report of a suspicious person at the school, but there is no active shooter at the school. This person has not yet been located and officers have not confirmed if there is a threat to students.

However, the school was closed as a precautionary measure.

The lockdown comes on a day when additional security was already in place at the school. It’s because Broughton student arrested with gun on Monday off campus during lunch.

Stay with ABC11 as we work to gather more details.
