REGINA – Saskatchewan residents are waking up to a new Saskatchewan Party government, after Premier Scott Moe secured a fifth straight majority for the party in Monday’s election.

Moe’s party lost in major cities while retaining its hold in rural areas to win 35 seats in the 61-seat Legislative Assembly.

The Saskatchewan Party was ousted by Carla Beck’s NDP in Regina and lost all but two of its seats in Saskatoon.

Moe says he has to do better.

He said he heard the message from voters that they are unhappy with the way the province delivers health care, education and makes life more affordable.

Beck said that while she was disappointed by her loss, she was proud of the gains her party made and would continue to hold Moe accountable.
