Views sought on the future of Surrey Hills

The public was asked for their views on environmental issues in the Surrey Hills.

Surrey Hills National Landscape (SHNL) has launched an online survey to help shape the future of the landscape over the next 75 years.

The findings will be discussed at a public meeting at the University of Surrey on November 13 and will influence the next Surrey Hills Management Plan.

The survey covers issues such as environmental pressures, adaptation to climate change and strengthening public engagement.

The Surrey Hills were designated an Area of Outstanding National Beauty in May 1958, and are now known as a National Landscape.

The area covers more than a quarter of the Surrey countryside.
