HALIFAX — It’s the first full day of campaigning for the provincial election in Nova Scotia.

Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Houston on Sunday called a snap election for Nov. 26, saying he needed a strong mandate to negotiate with the federal government and invest more in housing and measures to reduce the cost of the life.

All three major party leaders are holding events in the Halifax area this morning.

Houston is expected to make an announcement in the city’s north side.

Liberal Leader Zach Churchill holds a news conference at party headquarters on transparency and accountability.

And NDP Leader Claudia Chender will hold a press briefing on health care.
