Arlington, Virginia – The Washington Capitals will host “The Pioneers” 50^th Anniversary night on November 8 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Among the alumni present on November 8, representing the period 1974-1982, are Yvon Labre, Dennis Maruk, Paul Mulvey and Errol Rausse.

Over the course of five Era Nights throughout the season, the Capitals celebrate the five eras of Capitals hockey. Each evening there will be a ceremonial puck drop, a specialty 50^th a birthday present, in-game content and features, a game environment based on the colors and theme of the era, and additional nods to the specific period of Capitals hockey history.

All fans in attendance at the Premiership Night on November 8 will receive a replica of the original Capitals jersey. To celebrate alumni and the specific era, the Capitals are offering a chalk talk with Capitals alumni before the game. Each ticket purchased through the special offer will receive an alumni poster featuring players from the “Pioneers” era.

Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) will offer a variety of programming related to the Capitals’ 50th anniversary during the 2024-25 season, including coverage focused on all five eras of Capitals hockey. MNMT will feature docuseries-style content celebrating “The Pioneers” during previous game broadcasts and on social media before and after the Nov. 8 game on ESPN+ and Hulu.
