For the second time in 10 days, a carjacker hit a victim with the stolen vehicle.

In the latest incident, a car-stealing bear sprayed a driver, pulled him from his car, robbed him then hit him with the stolen vehicle as he fled the scene early Sunday, police said from Winnipeg.

Police who responded to the scene at the intersection of Sherbrook Street and Ross Avenue at 2:06 a.m. found that the victim, aged 39, was suffering from minor injuries, police said in a press release. Monday.

He was medically cleared on site.

Police said the man was waiting for a friend near the intersection when the car thief suddenly opened the driver’s side door, sprayed him with bear spray, then pulled him from the vehicle, so than his dog.

The victim was then robbed of his belongings and struck by the vehicle as the car thief was leaving Winnipeg’s Centennial neighborhood, police said.

The stolen vehicle was then found on Edmonton Street, between Qu-Appelle and Cumberland avenues.

The victim was unable to provide a description of the thief, but a witness said the car thief was a man approximately five feet eight inches tall, according to the release.

The police are continuing their investigation.

It was the second incident in Winnipeg in 10 days in which the victim was run over as the car thief fled.

On October 26, a 45-year-old woman was in a parking lot near the RBC Convention Center in Winnipeg when she was struck by her vehicle as the car thief was leaving. She was sent to the hospital in unstable condition, but was later upgraded to stable condition, police said in a previous release.
