New Jersey Devils vs Edmonton Oilers: How to Watch NHL FREE, Time and Channels

The New Jersey Devils wrap up a nearly week-long road trip when they visit Rogers Place in Edmonton on Monday night.

The game against the Oilers kicks off at 8:30 p.m. ET and you can watch it on the NHL Network or stream it live on ESPN+, fubo tv (add-on, FREE trial), Sling TV (supplement, discount) or DirectTV Stream(add-on, FREE trial and discount).

Both teams have played pretty well through the first month of the season, with New Jersey (7-5-1) tied for second in the Metropolitan Division, one point behind the Rangers, and Edmonton (6-5- 1) tied for third place. in the Pacific division with Vancouver.

The Oilers are without Connor McDavid, who is expected to return to the Oilers lineup later this month as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Even without McDavid, they have won four of their last five games.

Leon Draisaitl had a goal and two assists, and Zach Hyman, Jeff Skinner and Mattias Janmark, with an empty net, also scored in a 4-2 win over Calgary on Sunday.

Edmonton goaltender Stuart Skinner stopped 29 shots in the victory.

Draisaitl has been an offensive force, with nine goals and seven assists this season. McDavid is second on the scoring list with 10 points and Mattias Ekholm is third with nine points. Draisaitl has averaged a point per game in 56 career games without McDavid since the latter was drafted first overall by Edmonton in 2015.

Skinner started in net in eight games for the Oilers. His record is 3-4-0-1 and his goals against average is 3.31. Calvin Pickard has four starts (3-1, 2.48 GAA).

New Jersey is off to a 5-2 start but has stumbled lately, losing five of its last seven games, including two in overtime.

They began the trip last Wednesday with a 6-0 win over Vancouver before losing to Calgary by a score of 3-0 on Friday.

The Devils will be without fourth-line winger Nathan Bastian, who is out for several weeks with a jaw injury he suffered in their loss to the Flames on Friday. This comes less than a week after Bastian’s teammate Curtis Lazar underwent surgery on his left knee.

Enforcer Kurtis MacDermid practiced in place of Bastian on Sunday and will likely be in the lineup for tonight’s game.

Nico Hischier leads the Devils with 10 goals and five assists, followed by Jesper Bratt (2 goals, 11 assists). Paul Cotter is second on the team in goals scored with six.

Jacob Markstrom started 10 of 14 games in net, accumulating a 5-4-0-1 record and a 2.62 GAA.
