Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has given advice on lifestyle and health after members of the public at an event in Australia asked him for advice. He is on a five-day visit to Australia, during which he will inaugurate the fourth Indian consulate in the country, besides co-chairing the 15th Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue (FMFD) with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong.

Answering questions from the public at an event on Sunday, some people said they would like to know if there is any lifestyle advice, given the fast-paced and high-pressure role of the foreign minister, a reported news agency ANI.

However, Mr. Jaishankar, before answering the question seriously, suggested a business proposal on healthy living to an audience member who wanted to know the Foreign Minister’s advice on healthy living.

“…I just think maybe there is a formula that you and I could do business on, some kind of good lifestyle…how to take care of your heart,” Mr. Jaishankar said. The room filled with laughter.

“… But honestly, I don’t do anything remarkable. I try to be as regular as possible… I travel exceptionally, but for the rest, I do it as normally as possible. The only advice I can give you giving is that as you get older, you feel a little more entitled to give advice on your lifestyle,” he said.

“I tell everyone to stay fit, no matter how you stay fit. I take an hour off every day between yoga and ideally a competitive sport, because there’s nothing like playing against someone to stay sharp. I play squash. It is important to stay fit because ultimately somewhere (in the head) and yes, the heart too,” Mr. Jaishankar said, making a statement. gesture of one hand towards his head and chest.
