In a meeting with 211 nodal officers, 90 cluster officers and their police counterparts at Guru Nanak Bhawan, the DC and the two SSPs stressed the importance of reaching out to every farmer to discourage them from stubble burning and contribute to environmental damage.

Jorwal encouraged the officers to spread the message of the anti-burning campaign in their respective areas to promote a cleaner environment. He referred to the upcoming Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and urged farmers to follow his teachings by eliminating the problem of stubble burning in the state. He quoted the message conveyed by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji: “Pawan Guru, Paani Pita, Mata Dharat Mahat”.

Further, Jorwal advised the node and cluster officials to continue their awareness campaigns so as to inculcate a sense of responsibility and duty towards nature among farmers. He stressed the need for them to prioritize in-depth visits to their areas over the next 15 days to ensure that no farmer burns stubble. He also mentioned that no farmer should be neglected and even those living in remote areas should have access to the necessary agricultural equipment to manage stubble in their fields.

Gotyal and Bains also asked the police counterparts of the civilian teams to carry out daily walks in their respective areas to prevent stubble burning, which poses a significant threat to both human health and the environment.
