Peter Weber will listen to 1 Kygo song during the entire New York marathon

It’s safe to say that there may be no bigger fan of Kygo that Pierre Weber.

Ahead of New York Marathonpresented by New York Road Runners, on Sunday, November 3, the 33-year-old former Bachelor spoke with Us every week — and revealed that he’s a “song repeater,” meaning he’ll only have one song playing in his headphones for the entire 26.2 miles.

“I do the same song the whole race: Kids in Love by Kygo,” Weber said. We. “It’s my running song. This works for me and it puts me in a very meditative trance state. I kind of go in and out – absorbing the energy of the city and then coming right back between the ears.

Although Weber has met the Norwegian DJ and record producer, he thinks Kygo might be surprised to learn that he will be listening to his song for four and a half to five hours on Sunday.

“My first marathon that I did was in 2021, the first year I was in the city and I went into it without really knowing what to expect. I’ve never run a distance, but I took on the challenge,” he said. “What I remember feeling after crossing that finish line at the very end was one of the most rewarding and fulfilling feelings – levels of self-improvement and self-confidence that I have ever felt, honestly, all my life. »

This time, however, it will be a little different.

“I did absolutely no training for the first one,” he confessed, comparing himself to Barney from How I Met Your Mother. Teaming up with the New York Road Runners and Fabletics, Weber opted to do things the “right way” for round two. “I’ve been very lucky and I’m very grateful to my coach, Lance Parker. He had an amazing training plan for me over the last two months. I also worked with Megan Monaghan, a mental meditation coach.

Weber’s goal for Sunday is four hours and 30 minutes.

And that’s where the time aspect comes in. I’m really competitive in my nature, but also with myself. So I chose four and a half thinking it was a manageable amount of time. It’s going to push him, obviously, and it’s going to hurt in the end.

Weber, the Bachelor of season 24, won’t be the only member of Bachelor Nation on the course on Sunday. Season 25 star Matt James aims to cross the finish line in less than three hours.

“I just saw Matt about two weeks ago. We were at the Seahawks game in Seattle, so we were talking about our preparation and everything else. He’s going to kill it — he (is) just built differently,” Weber said of the former college football player. “He’s in incredible shape. We talked, we gave advice and motivation.
