KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation is expected to make an announcement on repair efforts after Hurricane Helene on Wednesday.

The announcement will focus on I-26 and will take place in Erwin, Tennessee. It was one of the main thoroughfares in Northeast Tennessee, and it was severely damaged after the storm moved heavy floodwaters into the Erwin area.

TDOT Deputy Governor/Commissioner Butch Eley is expected to attend, along with federal, state and local officials from Unicoi County.
