The Minnesota Vikings are playing Thursday Night Football at the LA Rams and lost a key offensive player to injury late in the first half.

The Vikings’ offensive line took a big hit at the end of the first half when Christian Darrisow left the game with a left knee injury. Darrisow’s left leg was bent while blocking an Aaron Jones run play. The Vikings called all three timeouts with 35 seconds left in the half, even though the ball was inside their own 5-yard line. Kevin O’Connell had no intention of taking a knee because he knew Jones could make it big.

Darrisow had to be helped off the field by two coaches and did not return to the sideline at the start of the third quarter and was out of the game. David Quessenberry took his place at left for the remainder of the game.

Why is it important?

Darrisow is a mainstay on the offensive line and one of the most reliable left tackles in the NFL. He signed a four-year contract extension worth over $100 million in July.
