Election Day 2024 has finally arrived, and there is still time for absentee voters to put their ballots back in the ballot boxes. The deadline for sending the mail was then November 4.

Here’s how to find a drop box near you.

Where are the polls near me in Ohio?

You can cast your own ballot using a drop box at the county board of elections before 7:30 p.m. on election dayNovember 5. The Ohio Secretary of State’s Office website has the addresses indicated here.

I did not mail my absentee ballot. Is it too late to vote?

Voters’ absentee ballots had to be mailed by November 4. Ballots must arrive at election boards by November 9 to be counted. However, mail-in ballots can still be dropped off at your local drop box before 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Ohio Drop Box Policy for 2024 Elections

Voters can only return their ballots to drop boxes, located outside of county boards of elections, according to new rules from Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

Previous Columbus Expedition Reports notes that anyone returning a ballot for a family member or assisting a voter with a disability must bring the ballots inside the board office and complete an attestation form.

How can I track my absentee ballot in Ohio?

If you have already voted absentTHE Ohio Government Website allows you to track your postal vote:

  1. Know your county and find it on the Ohio map
  2. Enter your first and last name. Some counties may require your date of birth and residential zip code
  3. Click Submit and you will find your ballot

Remaining voting dates in Ohio

  • November 5: Election day. Polls in Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and in Kentucky from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • November 9: Absentee ballots mailed on or before November 4 must arrive at election boards before that day to be counted.

Ohio polls opened at 6:30 a.m. and will close at 7:30 p.m., although Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose sent a message on reminding voters to line up after 7:30 p.m.
