    Where are the Rams halfway through divisional play?

    The Los Angeles Rams (4-4) are currently 2-1 in the NFC West and tied for second with the San Francisco 49ers (4-4) after nine weeks. With three divisional games remaining, the Rams have a good chance to win the NFC West title and present themselves as a dangerous playoff team.

    The Rams have played each team in their division once so far this season. A pair of victories for the 49ers, most recently against the Seattle Seahawks (4-5), have given them a winning record in the West. Their only divisional loss was a crushing loss to the Arizona Cardinals (5-4) in week two.

    When considering a potential playoff berth and an NFC West title, the Rams will need to have a similar record within the division in their next three contests. If they can win two of the three remaining division games to get to 4-2, that should be enough to win the division.

    There is no doubt that this is the tightest divisional race in all of football. Only two games separate the four teams from top to bottom and, depending on what kind of streak these teams run, will determine the West winner.

    The Rams are no strangers to embarking on a late-season run to secure a playoff spot. Even though they didn’t win the division last year, they still managed to win seven of their final eight games to finish 10-7 and enter as a Wild Card team.

    With four losses and nine games remaining, the Rams will need to follow a similar path to not only make the playoffs, but also win their division. With the way they’ve been playing recently, it’s certainly a strong possibility.

    Three of the Rams’ final four games of the season will be against teams in the NFC West. If they can emulate their run from a season ago and win at least two of these games, it will put them in control of the division and should earn them their fourth division title since 2017.

    A current three-game winning streak is a good start to a comeback season where they started the year 1-4. This would be one of the most memorable comeback seasons in recent history and as every NFL team knows, once you make the playoffs, anything can happen.
