KUWAIT CITY, November 5: Minister of Education Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei announced that the 4th International Education Conference, titled “Transforming Education: Opportunities and Challenges to Improve the Future of Education in the Gulf States”, provides a vital platform for the exchange of ideas. and visions for the future of education in the GCC countries.

In his opening speech at the two-day conference, the minister highlighted Kuwait’s commitment to hosting discussions on educational issues, emphasizing political leaders’ support for education as a cornerstone of building advanced societies. He explained that the conference aims to address the future of education in the GCC countries in light of rapid technological advancements, economic transformations, social changes and human development. Today, he stressed, education goes beyond the transfer of knowledge; this encompasses the development of life skills and innovation capabilities needed to adapt to the demands of a new era.

Al-Tabtabaei expressed pride in Kuwait’s role as host of this important conference, which brings together a distinguished group of academics, experts, researchers, education officials and specialists from the Gulf States and from various countries around the world. He acknowledged the support received from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

In a similar speech, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, praised the substantial support provided by the Kuwaiti government to improve the education system and highlighted the efforts of the leaders of the Council member states to strengthen this system in all countries. areas of mutual interest.

Al-Budaiwi noted that the establishment of the Council aimed to facilitate coordination and cooperation among member states, particularly in the education and culture sectors. He pointed out that proactive educational initiatives had begun even before the formation of the Council in 1981, noting the establishment of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States in 1975 under the supervision of education ministers.

He highlighted the responsibility of GCC countries to address regional and international educational challenges, emphasizing the need to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The high enrollment rates reflect the GCC’s commitment to ensuring an appropriate educational environment and ensuring the right to education for all.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Asi, Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, said that these conferences provide a platform for focused discussions to present innovative ideas and qualitative solutions aimed at improving education , to address challenges and identify key future features. , all rooted in the unique issues and priorities of each country and the common goal of quality education focused on human development.
