“I knew it would be a tough fight and it would be a war. We knew this was going to happen. We talked about it: there’s going to be a tough fight, but that doesn’t matter. We get frustrated sometimes because we don’t get the knockout, but it doesn’t matter how we get the win. I knew it was my arm that needed to be raised.

“(I had) no terror at all. I didn’t feel any (pressure). I knew we were going to get there. I work very hard, but in my other UFC fights it was just minor adjustments that kept me from winning. I just needed to make these adjustments. We worked a lot, even mentally. There is no pressure. I knew all those adjustments, all we had to do was just make those minor adjustments to get the win.

Ribeiro on what he wants next

“I am a fighter. I want to fight as soon as possible. I have another challenge – no, no, not a challenge. I am getting married on January 4 to my future wife. I love you – I love you. So it’s a beautiful moment in my life, a very important stage in my life.
