Eastlink acquires Sunwire’s residential Internet, TV and phone services • iPhone in Canada Blog

East Link has purchased the residential Internet, television and phone services of Sudbury, Ontario-based Sunwire, expanding its reach in the province, effective November 1, 2024.

The company’s website tells customers: “At this time, nothing will change, including your price.” We are working closely with Sunwire to make the transition as smooth as possible and will contact you in the coming months with more details on what to expect and when.

“We are pleased to welcome Sunwire customers to the Eastlink family,” CEO Jeff Gillham said in a statement. “They have our commitment that we will work hard, every day, to earn their trust while continuing to invest, grow and develop the products and services we offer with the care and excellence in customer service for which we have become known. »

“Eastlink has a strong history of service and operational excellence in the communities it serves, which gives me confidence that it is the right company to take over this part of the business,” said Jason Legault, President and CEO of Sunwire.

East Link will support these residential customers in Sudbury, Timmins and surrounding areas.

Sunwire says it will continue to serve its business customers, focusing on its SolSwitch communications platform, cybersecurity and IT, structured cabling and business Internet.

Halifax-based Eastlink has invested more than $180 million in Northern Ontario over the past decade to expand its high-speed Internet and fiber optic networks throughout the region.
