‘The perfect opportunity’ – Oleksandr Usyk’s manager names the only fight left for the Ukrainian if he beats Tyson Fury again

Oleksandr Usyk’s manager Egis Klimas believes his client will only have one fight left if he beats Tyson Fury again.

The Ukrainian slickster handed over Fury the first defeat of his professional career in May and now they are ready to experience it again December 21.

Last time, Usyk unified the four major sanctioning belts to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in over 25 years.

However, their revenge will only concern the WBA, WBC and WBO titles after the IBF stripped Usyk due to his contractual obligation to give Fury a second fight rather than face their proxy Daniel Dubois.

As a result, Dubois went from interim world champion to full world champion and defended his red and gold bracelet by knocking out Antoine Joshua in September.

His next fight is scheduled to take place on February 22, although his opponent has not yet been announced.

Provided he comes out unscathed and Usyk beats Fury again, Klimas believes a fight with Dubois for the undisputed crown is the only fight left for his fighter.

“Would we set up a fight with Dubois if Usyk beats Fury? Absolutely,” Klimas said. Boxing King Media.

“I don’t think there’s anyone else left in the heavyweight division. Right now, Daniel Dubois is the IBF champion.”

Usyk knocked out Dubois in August after being dropped by a shot that divided fans.

Some claimed the punch, which floored Usyk for several minutes, was legal and should have been counted while others insisted it stayed low.

The referee determined it was an illegal blow and so Usyk was given four minutes to recover before rebounding to stop Dubois in the ninth round with a hard punch.

Usyk beat Fury on points in May and will fight him again on December 21.

“A lot of people discussed the first fight, saying it wasn’t a low blow, but it definitely was,” Klimas added.

“The referee gave us some recovery time, and I think any smart fighter would take advantage of that opportunity.

“For many, this has raised questions, and for Oleksandr, a fight with Dubois after Fury would be the perfect opportunity to show that he can beat him and become the undisputed heavyweight champion a second time.”

After dismantling Joshua at Wembley Stadium, Dubois indicated he wanted revenge on Usyk.

Meanwhile, his promoter Frank Warren insists “Triple D” will be watching Usyk vs Fury II very closely.

“We will see what happens on December 21 in Riyadh,” he said.

“See the result of this fight. Tyson, I believe, will win it, but the fight I would love…

“I would love to see Daniel face them again against Usyk because I think he should have won that fight and I still believe it wasn’t a low blow.”
