As the Persona and Yakuza series each exceed 20 million sales, Sega says its JRPG successes are due to the power of cross-platform releases.

THE Character The series has now reached more than 23 million players worldwide and Yakuza almost 28 million – and Sega says that this growing success can be attributed to a few key choices regarding the games’ release.

According to SegaIt is Integrated annual report for 2024the Persona and Like a Dragon franchises are flying. The first series has sold 23.5 million copies while the second has reached a colossal figure of 27.7 million sales worldwide. These impressive figures include digital and physical sales, with the Persona 5 game line and spin-off titles alone accounting for over 10 million copies sold – almost half of the series’ lifetime sales.
