Zydus Wellness has announced plans to acquire Naturell (India), including its subsidiary NIPL, known for producing healthy snacks like nutrition bars, protein cookies and protein chips. The acquisition aligns with Zydus Wellness’ strategy to expand into the health and wellness sector.

NIPL’s business portfolio includes the brands Ritebite Max Protein (healthy protein-rich snacks) and Ritebite (fiber-enriched snacks). It started its business operations in 2003 and entered the healthy snacks business in 2007. The acquisition expands Zydus Wellness’ presence in the healthy snacks market, adding protein and fiber enriched products to its wallet.

The transaction is proposed to be financed in cash. It is expected to be EPS accretive for Zydus Wellness from the year following the acquisition.
