Robert De Niro turns to Harris at Eagles tailgate as presidential race comes down to a thread

Actor Robert De Niro and other supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris attacked Philadelphia Eagles fan tailgates outside Lincoln Financial Field Sunday afternoon.

Also in attendance were former Secretary of State John Kerry, Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Pa., and Michael Embrich, former policy adviser to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee. Embrich took a photo of De Niro speaking to Eagles fans. De Niro read from a piece of paper and touted Harris’ campaign platform.

The New York native played Bradley Cooper’s on-screen father and an Eagles fan in the film “Silver Linings Playbook.” He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for this role.

Harris’ campaign received a lot of press in Pennsylvania just days before most voters went to the polls to make their choice for president of the United States. The Democratic National Committee unfurled banners at Lincoln Financial Field in support of Harris during games, while former President Trump’s campaign aired ads during Eagles games.

A Fox News poll released Wednesday showed Harris and Trump tied among likely voters in the expanded vote at 48% each, while just 3% say they support a third party in Pennsylvania. In September, Trump had a one-point lead over Harris and 4% favored another.

In the bilateral matchup among likely voters, Trump is up 1 point (50% to Harris’s 49%).

Among registered voters, however, Harris gained two points in both the expanded and two-way polls. All results among registered and likely voters are within the margin of error.

Trump beat Hillary Clinton by less than a point in 2016, while President Joe Biden won Pennsylvania in 2020 by a little more than one point.

De Niro has been vehemently anti-Trump since the business mogul ran for president in 2015.

At the New York premiere of “Megalopolis,” De Niro worried about Trump’s chances.

“I’m worried” De Niro said in September, during the Q&A session, “I see the things in Francis’ film about it, the parallels and so on. For me, it’s not over until it’s over , and we have to go wholeheartedly to beat the Republicans – these Republicans.” , they are not real Republicans – and they beat Trump.
