Some iPhone 14 Plus units have an issue that affects the device’s rear camera.

free fix for affected units

Apple has determined that “a very small percentage” of iPhone 14 Plus Units have a rear camera issue and have initiated a repair program to resolve it.

The company claims that iPhone 14 Plus manufactured between April 10 and 28 last year might have a problem with the rear camera. The issue prevents the device from displaying an image preview when a photo is taken.

Apple launched a webpage detailing the issue and allowing users to check their iPhone 14 Plus serial number to determine if they are eligible. If a device is affected by the issue, Apple will fix the issue for free, regardless of the phone’s warranty status.

Users experiencing this issue will need to take the iPhone 14 Plus to an Apple Authorized Service Center. Service Provider or to an Apple store for repair. Users who do not live near an AASP or store can request a mail-in option by contacting Apple Support.

The program does not extend any existing warranty, but covers all affected iPhone 14 Plus models for up to three years from the original purchase date, according to the company’s webpage. The iPhone 14 Plus was launched in September 2022this program will therefore continue to cover all units concerned until September 2025.

If a user has already paid to have the camera problem repaired, they can contact Apple to request reimbursement of the cost of the repair.
