Dubbak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy looks on as women farmers dry paddy, which was soaked in rainwater on Friday evening.

Siddipet: Member of Parliament for Dubbak Kotha Prabhakar Reddywho visited the market courtyard at Doubbak Saturday, said that not a single grain had so far been transported to the rice mills from the Dubbak market, although the market spread over 10 acres filled with the farmers’ paddy crop.

As rain lashed Dubbak on Friday, the MP visited the market to examine the wet paddy and also to understand the plight of the farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that the BRS government was once well prepared for the paddy supply. However, he said the procurement process had not started anywhere in his constituency.

The BRS MP said the Congress government had not allotted rice mills to procurement centers which had caused the delay.

As farmers were in trouble, Reddy said the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy limited himself to criticizing opposition parties and the former chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao just for political gain.

Accusing the Congress of failing to fulfill its election promises, the Dubbak MP said the government had failed to complete loan waiver and release the Rythu Bharosa fund for farmers.

Many farmers had expressed their difficulties to the MLA. He spoke to officials and asked them to start purchasing immediately.
