James Bay OPP are investigating a fatal collision on Belanger Road North in Kapuskasing involving a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle.

The accident took place on October 30 and the police intervened at 12:30 p.m.

“Police found a deceased person at the scene, where a side-by-side ATV was overturned on its side, in the ditch on Bélanger Road North,” the Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Saturday.

“The Ontario Provincial Police Traffic Incident Management Team and Technical Collision Investigator are assisting in this investigation.”

The investigation continues under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

An autopsy is expected to take place at a later date.
