    Vanderbilt football can clinch bowl eligibility on Saturday, with the potential to do so as soon as possible in the modern era.

    Sitting on five victories, the Commodores (5-3, 2-2 SEC) could get its sixth against Auburn (3-5, 1-4), which has struggled this season. The Tigers lost to Missouri, Georgia, Oklahoma and Arkansas, but beat Kentucky last week. Vanderbilt is coming off a loss to Texas and has wins against Alabama and Kentucky and a loss to Missouri.

    Diego Pavie led New Mexico State to victory at Jordan-Hare Stadium when he was New Mexico State’s quarterback in 2023. His Aggies also beat now-Auburn coach Hugh Freeze when Freeze was at Liberty in 2022.
