Rushall Olympic 0-2 Accrington Stanley: FA Cup – BBC Sport

Josh Woods and Tyler Walton secured Accrington Stanley a 2-0 win over 10-man Rushall Olympic to earn a place in the FA Cup second round.

Stanley could have opened the scoring around the 20th minute when Donald Love sent a low cross to the near post, but Walton dragged his shot just wide.

The hosts then went close when Billy Crellin sent a cross to Luke Benbow, but he could only manage to head over.

Dara Castello played the ball back to Love midway through the half, but the winger blasted over the bar.

And the visitors threatened again before half-time when Shaun Whalley tried his luck from distance, testing home keeper Paul White, but he managed to deal with the effort.

Rushall had a good chance early in the second half when Fenton Heard collected a low cross into the box, but his effort whistled wide.

And the hosts found themselves down to ten men on the hour mark after Benbow received a second yellow card for a foul.

Accrington finally took the lead in the 73rd minute when White tipped over Whalley’s free-kick from the edge of the area and Woods scored from close range.

The visitors wrapped up the victory eight minutes from time thanks to Walton, who fired a shot across goal and into the bottom corner.
