Needle and toothpick found in two separate chocolate bars in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police are warning the public after two separate chocolate bars were found stuck with a needle and toothpick in Cambridge.

The two chocolate bars were reported to the police on November 1.

Police said the first chocolate bar contained a toothpick and was reported around 6 p.m. by a caregiver. The candy was recovered near Rouse Avenue and Kovac Road on October 31.

The second chocolate bar contained a needle and was reported by a caregiver around 7:20 p.m. The candy was recovered near Elgin Street North and Cassidy Court on October 31.

No one was hurt.

Police said caregivers should inspect all candy before eating it. Any candy that appears to have been tampered with or is not in its original packaging should be discarded.
