Houston Dia de los Muertos Parade and Festival 2024: Enjoy Free Admission to the City’s Largest Day of the Dead Celebration

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Join ABC13 for a colorful celebration of life and love in the 4th edition Houston Dia de los Muertos Parade and Festivalpresented by Reliant.

This contemporary fall tradition kicks off Saturday at 2 p.m. with a free festival at Sam Houston Park, which is expected to draw thousands of people to downtown Houston.

Attendees can enjoy a free day of live music and performances, and have the chance to visit a variety of exhibitors, including food and drink vendors, arts and crafts, and much more.

As the sun sets, downtown Houston will come alive in a spectacle of color and culture as the Houston Dia de Los Muertos parade begins at 7 p.m.

Houston Dia de los Muertos 2024 parade route

  • The parade starts on Bagby in Lamar
  • Directly on Walker St. from Bagby
  • On the right, Smith Street.
  • Directly on Dallas Street.

Dia de los Muertos is a vibrant celebration that began in Mexico to honor our ancestors and those recently passed away.

The holiday is celebrated with lots of fall color, food, celebration, and an ofrenda – or alter – featuring the photos of our beloved family members.

Sam Houston Park is located at 1000 Bagby, Houston.
