Johnny Gaudreauthe widow, Meredithshows off her kids’ Halloween costumes — and she revealed the late NHL star chose the outfits himself.

On Friday, October 31, Meredith shared photos and videos to her Instagram Stories that featured her and Johnny’s kids — daughter Noa, 2, and son Johnny Jr., 8 months — posing in their costumes. ‘Halloween with their cousins.

The Gaudreau children each wore costumes inspired by Toy story and Meredith also included the song “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” in her Stories post.

“Costumes that daddy wanted ,” she captioned the image.

Meredith has been candid about the impact losing her husband has had on their family. Last month, she shared posts on Instagram showing how Gaudreau Columbus Blue Jackets the teammates all came to support Noa for her second birthday party.

Among the photos Meredith posted was a group photo of Blue Jackets teammates posing next to a sign that read: “Happy 2nd Birthday Noa.”

Pictured is Meredith wrote on her Instagram story, “We love you all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

She added, “A truly special group who will forever be family to me and our babies,” referring to Noa with their son Johnny, 8 months, and their third child on the way. Last month, the widow revealed at her memorial service that she is nine weeks pregnant with their third baby.

Madeline Gadreau – the widow of Johnny’s brother Matthew, who was killed in the same accident as the hockey player – has also been candid about the impact of her husband’s death on their family, announcing that she is waiting for their first child, a boy named Tripp.

In the photos published on Madeline Instagram in October, she opened up about how her friends and family members helped her celebrate with a baby shower.

“Baby Shower of my dreams ,” Madeline wrote at the time, alongside photos of the shower’s “heaven”-themed decor. “…My husband would have loved all the balloons. The way you managed to tie my husband up made me cry instantly when I walked in.”

Johnny and Matthew were killed on the eve of their sister Katie Gaudreauduring the wedding when a suspected drunk driver hit the brothers who were riding their bikes.

Johnny, an NHL star for 11 years with the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets, was 31 years old. Matthew, a former NCAA hockey star at Boston College who became an assistant head coach of their high school hockey team in recent years, was 29 years old.
