Now that spooky season is officially over, it’s time to prepare for the upcoming holidays by giving thanks and gathering with family and friends. Whether you celebrate by gathering around the table or around the TV to watch the game, nothing says “give thanks” like cooking for your loved ones. A typical meal this time of year might include dishes like turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and more. These holiday staples are delicious and familiar. However, if you’re feeling more adventurous and want to try creating something new, the Rowan Public Library can help.

Have you ever read a book that made a meal delicious? Maybe reading about a particular treat in a book made you curious about its flavor. For example, when I was a child reading “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” by CS Lewis, I always wondered what Turkish delight tasted like.
