Public Notice – Potentially Lethal Cocaine

The Saskatoon Police Service is warning the public about the trafficking of potentially deadly cocaine in Saskatoon.

The Major Crimes Section is currently investigating an incident involving what appears to be two cocaine overdose deaths.

The public is reminded that any medication not prescribed by a doctor and dispensed by a pharmacist can cause serious injury or even death. The public is also reminded of the Good Samaritan Overdose Relief Act, which serves to provide some legal protection to individuals who experience or witness an overdose and seek emergency assistance. Familiarize yourself and talk to others about it; you could make a difference by saving a life. Symptoms of an overdose may include, but are not limited to: slow or no breathing; gurgling, panting, or snoring; moist and cool skin; blue lips or nails; and difficulty waking up or staying awake. If you suspect someone has suffered an overdose, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact SPS at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
