Palm Bay Mayor Rob Medina highlights annual Fall Festival and upcoming Veterans Day Parade in Mayor’s Message

The Veterans Day Parade will take place on November 9 at 10 a.m.

It’s a beautiful day, Palm Bay! Last month we celebrated the 27th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival, presented by UTB United Third Bridge, Inc. at Fred Poppe Regional Park. Even though it was raining, we celebrated! I was both honored and surprised to see Tito Puente Jr. bring me on stage to embrace my musical talents! It was truly a great event and I can’t wait until next year!

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – It’s a beautiful day, Palm Bay!

Last month we celebrated the 27th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival, presented by UTB United Third Bridge, Inc., at Fred Poppe Regional Park. Even though it was raining, we celebrated! I was both honored and surprised to have Tito Puente Jr. pull me on stage to embrace my musical talents! It was a great event and I can’t wait until next year!

We also celebrated our annual Fall Festival at Fred Poppe Regional Park and if you didn’t get a chance to attend, make sure to come next year! This year’s event was even bigger than last year, with the largest number of vendors and attendees we’ve ever had!

Last year, the City hosted nine Fun Friday events, and October was one for the books! Watch next year for more concerts and events.

Our grand marshals will be the Gold Star family of SSgt. Tristen K. Wright, her parents Ricky and Novolia Wright and her sister Demyia Biggs. An event will follow the parade in the park until 3:00 p.m. with food, drinks and entertainment. I hope you will mark your calendars and join me in honoring our veterans!

Every November 11, we honor a group that holds a special place in my heart: America’s veterans. These courageous men and women demonstrated remarkable selflessness and courage when they chose to serve in the United States Armed Forces. We offer our sincerest thanks to all the heroes who have worn the uniform and left the comfort of their homes to defend our freedoms.

Thank you for your sacrifices, for the challenges you have endured and for the unwavering commitment you have demonstrated. Your service has shaped our nation, safeguarded our freedoms, and defended the values we cherish. To all veterans, we salute you. We are grateful for the battles you have fought, the victories you have won, and the boundless love you have shown for our country. May your courage continue to inspire us and may we strive to honor your service every day. Happy Veterans Day!

I also want to recognize the 249th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.

Happy Birthday and Semper Fi to my fellow Marines! Our core values – Honor, Courage and Commitment – remain at the core of who we are and guide us both in service and in combat. May God bless each of you and continue to bless our great nation, the United States of America. OOH RAH!

Later this month, we will gather with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving. I am truly grateful to each of you and honored to be Mayor of the greatest city in the world!

This season is a time to appreciate our blessings, come together as a community, and reflect on all that we are grateful for. To all Palm Bay residents, I wish you a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving!
