Calgary weather: a little humid Saturday but milder Sunday

A light haze lingered over the city as the new month began, which inhibited the sun’s heating capabilities throughout the afternoon.

Calgary managed to reach a high of 4°C today, which is at the lower end of the seasonal range.

A mid-latitude cyclone off Vancouver Island will have a weather effect on many parts of western Canada this weekend, but its effects on southern Alberta won’t be too severe.

The main dangers from this system will be light rain or snow showers early Saturday, with a few isolated rain/snow showers also later in the evening.

On top of that, expect clouds to form over Calgary throughout the day.

By Sunday, the depression will have weakened considerably and conditions are expected to be mild with a recovery on the temperature front.

This will be fairly short-lived though, with another upper low establishing itself just over southern Alberta on Tuesday, bringing lower temperatures and an increased chance of wet weather too!

A friendly reminder: Daylight saving time is this Sunday. Take advantage of the extra hour added to your weekend!
