Police arrest Sara Sharif’s relatives after plane lands in London

Body camera footage showing the moment Sara Sharif’s alleged killers were arrested on a plane at Gatwick Airport has been played in court.

The 10-year-old girl was found dead with burns, bite marks and broken bones on a bunk bed at her home in Woking, Surrey, on August 10 last year.

Her father, Urfan Sharif, 42, her stepmother Beinash Batool, 30, and her uncle Faisal Malik, 28, are all on trial for her murder.

Following his death, the trio fled to Pakistan before returning to the UK more than a month later.

On September 13 last year, police received information that the three defendants would arrive at Gatwick Airport on a flight from Dubai that evening.

At the Old Bailey on Friday, jurors were shown clips from the officers’ body cameras of the time police boarded the plane and arrested the defendants at 7.42pm, seven minutes after it landed.
