We recently shared a ton of not very good news from Pepsi detailing all the Mountain Dew, Pepsi and Rockstar flavors that will get the ax next year. But wait, there’s more. We learned that the Mountain Dew 2025 range has been revamped a bit – and there’s good news and bad news.

The bad news: goodbye, goodbye patriotic dews

The bad news is that the Red, white and blue dews are NOT returning in summer 2025 as originally planned. According to the super snack duo Supernova Team And SnachWithZachStar Spangled Splash, Freedom Fusion, and Liberty Chill wasted an unexpected amount of product. In other words, the cans passed their expiration dates while they were on the shelves, resulting in a loss for PepsiCo. The company therefore chose to end the return previously planned for 2025.

The good news: the summer frost is coming back

Fortunately, the news isn’t all red, white and gloom. Instead of the patriotic Mountain Dew trio, PepsiCo decided to bring Summer frost in June 2025. Unfortunately, this is the only Mountain Dew flavor currently slated for a summer release. But fans of the pop bomb-inspired soda will be happy to see it return to the United States after a successful release in Canada and Honduras in 2024.

Other good news, Summer Freeze will be released again in a regular, sugar-free version. This is HUGE for zero sugar drinkers because a zero sugar Dew wasn’t originally planned for next summer!

Even when everything seems set in stone, PepsiCo likes to keep us on our toes. Here’s hoping that the next time we tell you a story about Mountain Dew, it’s good news for Dew!
