Train services between parts of Surrey and London are facing disruption following a car incident near a level crossing in Egham.

No trains are running between Staines and Virginia Water in either direction and problems are expected to continue into the evening, according to South Western Railway.

Delays on other lines are expected to last in both directions until at least 1800 GMT on Friday, the train company said.

Trains to and from stations including London Waterloo, Reading and Windsor & Eton Riverside will all be affected.

South Western Railway said tickets would be accepted on the London Underground, TfL and some local bus services.

Network Rail Wessex posted a photo of the damage at Egham on X and thanked passengers for their patience.
