West Brom talent aims to extend historic FA Cup run

Striker Heard, who turned 20 last month, has signed an initial one-month loan deal with the Pics and joins on the eve of a historic draw at Dales Lane.

Adam Stevens’ Rushall host League Two’s Accrington Stanley at home on Saturday for a first FA Cup first round tie in the Pics’ 131-year history.

Tiny playmaker Heard is available to play against Stanley and is set to make his bow at Rushall in one of the biggest occasions in the National League North club’s history.

Barr-born great Heard made his senior debut for Carlos Corberan’s Albion last season in the FA Cup third round against National League side Aldershot Town. He caught the eye that day and is highly regarded by Corberan and the club’s academy staff.

Heard attracted interest while out of contract in the summer, but signed a one-year deal with an option for another, in favor of the club.

Rushall boss Stevens told his troops relax and approach the historic encounter without fear.

The Pics are without a win in four league matches but reached the first round for the first time thanks to a repeat penalty shootout success at Peterborough Sports in the last round.
