The rainbow eucalyptus: A tree with a kaleidoscopic appearance

It’s amazing, when you think about it, that we use just one word, TREE, to describe more than 70,000 different tree species that grow in the four corners of the Earth. Although all trees have an elongated, upward-rising trunk, usually supporting one or more canopies of leaves, this vague description presents great diversity.

Trees are found on every continent except Antarctica, growing in unique environments requiring each species to evolve unique adaptations over thousands and millions of years. Trees are much more than the sum of their parts, and what we see today is a product of the ingenuity of the natural world.
