There is a secret ending cutscene while waiting for the players at the end of Dragon Age: The Veilkeeper – but you’ll only earn it if you’ve carefully navigated the world map. There are three hidden Mysterious circles in three corners of the map. You will need to complete specific side quests and help your companions obtain all three. The secret ending is linked to ‘The ravaged storm‘ Achievement / Trophy – to obtain this hidden ending, you must complete specific side quests before the big final mission. To win the ending, follow these steps.

Obtain the essence of Mythal

Essence of Mythal is won in Chapter 6 for completing the side quest’The Dread Wolf’s Regrets‘ — this quest can be found in the Crossroads zone and will unlock automatically after starting Chapter 6 of the main story.

When you talk to Mythal, you can solve this quest in two different ways. You can fight her – or use dialogue to resolve the quest peacefully. If you complete the quest without fighting, you will earn the ‘Clear minds and open hearts‘achievement/trophy. Either way you will get Essence of Mythal.

• Path of mythical dialogue:
• When she asks if you are ready to fight a god, select the following dialogue options.
• “I want your help.”
• “We must stop this scourge.”
• “You opposed it.”
• “We must stop the gods.”
• “They wronged you.”
• “We are worthy of it.”
• “Build a safe place. »

Select these dialogue options to gain Mythal’s favor and she will join you for the final confrontation. You will win Light of Mythal – a unique magic knife.

Collect three mysterious circles

Then you will need to find three mysterious circles – these are found on different areas of the map and often require solving puzzles to find them. These can all be completed before the final chapter, before starting the quest’The price of the past.‘

• First mysterious circle:
• Located in Arlathan Foresttravel northeast from the spawn point to a marker in the waterfront clearings. There are lasers pointing towards an island in the distance.
• Line up the lasers to hit large crystals in the distance – they’re usually not far from the direction the beam is already pointing.
• Line up the first two beams, then go up the stairs. Drop down to the ruins above to reach a third beam – shoot the receiver to activate a fourth beam. Use the last beam to hit the crystal and unlock the chest.

The chest is guarded by a Keeper of secrets enemy. Defeat him to open the chest on the island and get your first Mysterious circle article. The circle is on a pillar behind the locked chest. Finding this will also unlock a mysterious codex entry. We need to find two more.

• Second mysterious circle:
• Located in the Necropolis rooms area — you must complete Emmrich’s Companion Quest called ‘Restless minds‘ before this Mysterious Circle is available.
• Complete the side quest in this region called ‘The pinnacle of the genre‘ to access the Chamber of the Unforged area in the rooms of the Necropolis. At the back of the room, past the large arena, is a treasure room where you can collect the second Mysterious Circle.

The second Mysterious Circle also unlocks a strange codex entry. The final circle is also only available after completing another specific side quest.

• Mysterious third circle:
• The last circle is in the Crossroads area, on Beacon Island. This island is available when you complete the side quest ‘The heart of corruption” in this area.
• Complete the quest and beat the encounter at the end to access a ruin with the final circle piece.

Complete the game

Complete the final mission to unlock the secret bonus cutscene at the end of the game. You can save everything and get the best ending possible, but still miss the bonus cutscene at the very end of the game – it’s a short 1 minute scene that reveals a secret group working behind the scenes of all the previous ones Dragon Age games, influencing the various villains. This new group promises to appear in the future – taking a more direct step in their plot. We won’t go into any more spoilers than that, but if you want to see the best ending, that’s what you’ll have to do.
